Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's

NAZBA's Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's for the month of May features FIVE fabulous shows! Starting of with Max Tovstyi from Phoenix, Max comes to us from the Ukraine and brings energy and style in the vein of Jimi and Stevie to the stage. He's toured throughout the Ukraine prior to the conflict and fled his country 15 months ago. Please welcome him to Arizona! The second Wednesday features Phoenix based blueswoman, Gypsy Wild at Harp, known for her harmonica skills and vocal talents. Influenced by Junior Wells and Charlie Musselwhite, she has traveled across the country several times. Gypsy is a much loved local treasure to the Phoenix blues scene and her performances show. She'll be accompanied by Rinus Pauel on guitar and vocals, an excellent guitar craftsman and solo artist in his own right. The third Wednesday features Steve Willis, AZ Blues Hall of Famer and long time Elvin Bishop band member. Steve will give you a complete show featuring him on piano, accordion,, and harmonica, singing tunes with a more traditional New Orleans flavor, along with plenty of his own originals! The fourth Wednesday brings in Kyle Rowland on harmonica and guitar, on tour from Sacramento, accompanied by Big Daddy D Darryl Porras on guitar and vocals. Performing the last Wednesday in May is the ever popular Sammy Mac and Larry Cznarecki from the Mother Road Trio. Sammy and the entire trio were inducted into the AZ Blues Hall of Fame two years ago and they have played some high quality shows, including a tour with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, a tour in Hungary, and the down in Phoenix at the prestigious Musical Instrument Museum.
