The NAZBA Wednesday Night Blues at Charly's presents a great lineup for the month of March:
From PHX is Big Daddy D, Darryl Porras, a long time AZ Blues artist with all the guitar chops needed to pull off a great blend of tunes from both the past and present. You'll hear tunes from B.B. King, as well as current touring artists like Tommy Castro and Josh Smith. Darryl was the lead guitarist for the second place finishing Memphis IBC band, Cros, in 2022, and he'll bring you some of that smokin' guitar playing on March 12.
Next up also from PHX, by way of the Ukraine, is Max Tovstyi! Max fled the Ukraine about 2 years ago now and has called AZ his home. His style is rock blues, in the SRV vein, so buckle up for an energetic show. He has a new solo album out, his third, titled "Songs from the Desert" and am sure he will be playing a few tunes off that release, which will be available for sale!
Finishing out the month of March and back by popular demand is the powerhouse vocalist from Sedona, Renee Rice, accompanied by Les Paul Roque on keys. Renee will entertain you with some familiar R&B tunes influenced by the great works of Motown artists. Renee and Les always bring an incredible depth of music talent to the stage and you will want to get up, dance, and carry on like there was no tomorrow! Les is an incredibly gifted keyboardist, who was Billy Paul's musical director for seven years and Renee was a Memphis IBC semifinalist in 2017, sponsored by NAZBA. After the first set, we open the stage up to jammers and ask that they please bring a small amp and/or mic to help with a quick set up. Thanks and looking forward to this great March lineup!
